“Leslie William Nielsen“ Canada & America’s actor/comedian started his acting career on the serious side with film debut as newspaper reporter “Charlie Telfer” in 1956′s movie “Ransom!” and ending his film career with the role of “Ready Espanosa” in the animated movie “The Waterman Movie” which is due for release in 2011. Although he made his film debut in 1956 he started his acting career in 1948 on Canadian television, which is not listed in his film or television credits, he started his career shortly after working as a Disc Jockey for the “Royal Canadian Air Force“ and receiving a scholarship to “Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre“, with 50 T.V. appearances with-in 2 years.

Mr. Neilson started comedy acting in 1982 as “Det. Frank Drebin” in ABC‘s very short lived (6 episodes) “Police Squad!“, the show was cancelled by then-ABC entertainment president Tony Thomopoulos after only 4 episodes with the last 2 being aired in the summer of that same year. The reason given for the cancellation being “Police Squad! was cancelled because the viewer had to watch it in order to appreciate it.” In its annual “Cheers and Jeers” issue, TV Guide magazine called the explanation for the cancellation “the most stupid reason a network ever gave for ending a series.” Although the T.V. series was cancelled in 1988 marked the beginning of ” The Naked Gun Series” with the first being “The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!” with the return of Leslie Neilson in the lead role as “Det. Lt. Frank Drebin“, “The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear“, with the last being “Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult“, with the intent of a fourth tentatively named “Naked Gun 4: This Is Really It“. Though in my opinion ” The Naked Gun” series is what defined Leslie Neilson as a comedian actor his first “billed” comedy role is “Airplane!” playing the role of “Dr. Alan Rumack” the bumbling Doctor who figures out what has happened to the passengers and flight crew on the plane. These movies are very Highly recommended for your viewing pleasure, here also is the list of Film and Television credits to his name which is over 100 film credits, 1500 T.V. credits. ” Film and T.V. credits” .

The other achievements to his name are he was nominated for both ” Hollywood Walk of Fame” (1988) and “Canada’s Walk of Fame“(2001) and in May 2005 was introduced to “HM Queen Elizabeth II” during the centennial gala of his birth province, “Saskatchewan“. This is only a small portion of his achievements. Leslie Neilson will be missed from this day forward as one of the worlds comedy greats. I want to express my deepest sympathies to Mr. Nielson’s family. Now excuse me while I go and watch the movies that made him great.

When officers arrived, they discovered Nathan E. Beasley, 31, of Murfreesboro unresponsive inside the vehicle in the driver’s position, spokesman Kyle Evans said. Officers quickly noticed he was in the process of cooking methamphetamine in the rear of the vehicle.

“The fluids in the bottles were in the process of chemical reaction and were actively cooking,” Evans said.

Officers removed Beasley from the vehicle and he was transported to Middle
Tennessee Medical Center by Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services. Beasley was reported to be conscious and responsive at the hospital.

The complainant was an employee of the Shell Station and advised the vehicle had been parked there for approximately one hour.

Officers are still investigating and charges are pending.

Murfreesboro Police and Murfreesboro Fire departments’ hazardous materials teams were securing and dismantling the mobile meth lab.

NEW School prayer:

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,

It’s important to understand that this was never about whether students were allowed to wear patriotic
clothing on our campuses. They can. It was about ensuring that our high school campus was orderly
and safe. School leaders have to make judgment calls on when to take preventative measures to pre-
empt a possible incident or conflict. In this situation, it appears that a decision was made too quickly.
Today, the principal of Live Oak has issued an apology to the students, parents, staff and community
for the decision that was made.
This has certainly been a very difficult time for our school district. But we are very proud of our
students and staff in the way they have responded and handled this high profile experience. We have a
lot of positive things going on at our school. Yesterday students took the AP English exam and believe
they did quite well. Today many are taking the AP U.S. History exam and tomorrow they are holding
a senior prom. This situation has certainly been a test for our school and by all accounts our students
have been passing that test with flying colors.
It is unfortunate that some people want to leverage their personal agendas off of this incident. The
district has been inundated by people from across the country, who have wanted to convert this into a
political statement. While the media coverage of this situation has for the most part been even-handed,
the bloggers, talk shows, social networks and self-proclaimed experts who have never set foot on our
campus have tried to create an image of Live Oak High School that simply is not true.
We are a very diverse society in America. The issues of race relations and immigration are certainly a
national conversation in the 21st century. In some respects, our students can teach us a lot about how
to engage appropriately in that conversation. For example, on their own, many students have decided
to wear white and purple clothing today as a show of solidarity.
This has been a teachable moment for our children, and this conversation has certainly not been easy,
but they have not shied away from it. Most want to engage in an open, honest conversation with each
other about race, relationships and how we can get along. Most of the kids on our campus have said
‘enough is enough.’ They want to get back to normal.
Maybe the lesson from this is to turn down the rhetoric, and turn up the listening, and allow
communities like Live Oak High School to have that conversation meaningfully outside of the glare of
a national spotlight.
Freedom of expression is a sacred American value. The point of the lesson learned here for all of us is
that not only should we celebrate freedom of expression, but we should go about that thoughtfully and
fairly.

At Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, CA on Cinco de Mayo apparently it is.  It is offensive enough in the minds of administrators there that they felt they had to send five students home from school for wearing them.

morning when Assistant Principal Miguel Rodriguez asked two of them to
remove their American flag bandannas, one of their parents told
FoxNews.com. The boys complied, but were asked to accompany Rodriguez
to the principal’s office.

The five students — Daniel Galli, Austin Carvalho,
Matt Dariano, Dominic Maciel and Clayton Howard — were then told they
must turn their T-shirts inside-out or be sent home, though it would
not be considered a suspension. Rodriguez told the students he did not
want any fights to break out between Mexican-American students
celebrating their heritage and those wearing American flags.

Dariano’s mother, Diana, told FoxNews.com she and
parents of the other four students are now demanding an apology from
officials and are considering a lawsuit.

At least is wasn’t disciplinary action, but there is
something wrong when a kid in the United States can’t wear a patriotic
shirt in his school.  Just like Mexican-American kids shouldn’t have to
worry about celebrating their heritage.  Freedom of speech should apply
all around even while on school groups.  First Amendment rights for
high school students was reinforced back in 1969 with the Tinker v. Des
Moines Independent Community Schools  U.S. Supreme Court case.  That
decision affirmed that youth do not shed their constitutional rights
upon passing through the schoolhouse door provided it isn’t disruptive
nor infringes on the free speech rights of others.  I hardly think a
patriotic t-shirt meets that criteria.  I’d like to think if the
families sue, they’d win, but this is in 9th Circus Court territory so
who knows.

The school district officials are investigating and
I hope they do some remedial training for those who made this
decision.  I also hope they get their apology.
